What You’ll Learn
The curriculum covers essential areas of practical nursing, including:
Students learn to connect classroom concepts with practical nursing responsibilities and patient-care situations encountered in healthcare settings.
Program Length & Completion
The Practical Nursing Program requires 1,344 hours for completion.
Students who successfully graduate receive a Practical Nursing Diploma and are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN examination offered through the Virginia Board of Nursing, subject to applicable eligibility and licensing requirements.
Passing the NCLEX-PN and meeting Virginia’s licensing requirements are separate from graduating from the program.

Practical nurses may work in a variety of healthcare environments, depending on their licensure, qualifications, and employer requirements. Potential settings include:
- Long-term care nursing facilities
- Clinics
- Hospitals
- Physician offices
- Home health agencies
The program is designed to provide the educational foundation for students pursuing entry-level practical nursing opportunities.
Practical Nursing Program
Applicants must meet the following admission requirements:
- Students must be at least 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Admission application and non-refundable application fee
- ATI TEAS Entrance Exam
- Valid identification card (Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport)
- Social Security Card or Tax Identification
- Criminal Background Check
- 5-Panel Drug Screening
- Valid BLS-CPR from the American Heart Association
- TB Test (PPD Test or Chest X-ray)
- COVID vaccine record or Notarized Exemption Form
- Flu vaccine record or Notarized Exemption Form
- MMR Titer
PN Admissions Requirements
Interested applicants must apply in person and pay the following nonrefundable fees:
- $75 application fee
- $50 entrance examination fee
Applicants must also bring:
- Picture ID
- Social Security card
After successfully completing the entrance examination, applicants must provide:
- High school diploma or GED transcript
- Valid CPR certification
- Drug test
- Criminal background check
- Health records, including PPD/chest X-ray results, TDAP, and flu vaccination or declination

Unique Health School offers interest Free Payment Plan per request. Payment may be made at the school during normal business hours, 8:00am to 5:00pm

How to Apply
Getting started begins with completing your application and preparing the required documents.
Complete the Unique Health School application form and pay the $75 nonrefundable application fee.
Provide two copies of the front and back of a government-issued identification document, such as a driver’s license or passport. The original must also be presented to the admissions office.
Provide two copies of the front and back of your Social Security card and present the original for verification.
Submit proof of your high school diploma or GED equivalency. If the document is in a foreign language, the diploma must be translated.
Provide your Nurse Aide Training Program Certificate of Completion from an approved program, as completion of nurse aide training is required for admission.
All required financial obligations must be fulfilled before beginning the program.
